You are free to use this software for any purpose. However, it is provided as-is with no warranty -- use at your own risk.

Detailed information is provided in the CogTool User Guide (available below). We strongly recommend that you read this guide to get the most out of the CogTool system. Additional support materials, includng a step-by-step tutorial to walk through, are available on the Documentation and Other Support page.

Mac OS X Instructions
(10.4.8 or later, including both Power PC and Intel Macs)

1. Download the CogTool .tgz file below.
2. Install CogTool by expanding the .tgz file
   If your browser does not automatically expand the .tgz file, double-click the file. The expanded CogTool application will appear in the same folder as the .tgz file. (You may delete the .tgz file after the CogTool application has been extracted.) You may place CogTool anywhere on your Mac.
3. Double-click CogTool to begin.
   As with any Mac application, you may place CogTool's icon in the Dock for more convenient access.

Windows Instructions
(Windows XP, Vista, or Windows7 required)

1. Donwload the CogTool .exe file below.
2. Install CogToolby double-clikcing the installer and following the instructions. Once it is finished, you may check the "Open CogTool" option to begin immediately, or
3. Open CogTool from the Start Menu to begin, as you would any Windows application

Doesn't work? Your computer may not have the Java Runtime Environment (all versions of Windows). Try downloading and installing Sun's Java Runtime Environment (instructions are on Sun's page).

CogTool Source Code

CogTool is an open source project released under LGPL and we are in the process of packaging its sources to be downloadable from this page. In the meantime, if you are interested in obtaining the source code, please read the forum post and comments discussing GPL.
